TYPE Z Preview
Hi All, It is NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month.
I am currently at about thirty Thousand Words. Which is what Book one of "TYPE Z" as become. That is the government branch of The Outbreak Z World.

TYPE Z: Part One

Synopsis
In the early hours of "The Long Day, President Bob McCafferty assembles his cabinet at the United States Naval Academy in Maryland. The goal is to stem the plague and ensuing panic that is sweeping across the united states. The infected are eating people, there are no plans or protocols in the United States for such an emergency. The President needs a response, but no one can offer any answers.
The three people available amid the panic is not who the President expected when he asked for a solution. Now the president must rely on an alcoholic Officer on the brink of being told to resign his commission, a timid analyst who can barely communicate on a face-to-face level and a librarian who is embattled by the prejudices of culture and gender in her personal and professional life.
As the as Timoty, Yew, and Patel Emergency Plan is constructed the authors must overcome the mistakes of the past so humanity can have any hope of a future. The President, the People, and the country need a plan.\, and they have been called on to create it.
This is the story of that plan.

"What is this "Operation Footfall" plan that you have?" General Maxwell asked. "I do not want you to go into to great a detail right now, but if you can offer us some idea, I think it will put a few minds at ease Colonel."
"It would certainly help me sleep a little better." President McCafferty said, the word sleep suddenly feeling like a distant memory. " I wasn't elected to abandon our people."
"Yes Sir, just as an Overview, Operation Foothold, the first of the six phases, is about saving what we can.Operation FootPrint is concerned with the consolidation of resources., that is Phase Z1O1, Days ten to Sixty. Operation Footstep or Z1O2 is when we actually begin to look for survivors. It is at that point we can start to look for those who were able to shelter in place., ZEDS One- Operation Three also includes gather additional resources and determine a strategy for claiming back our towns and cities from the plagued., Z 1O3 is when we actually start putting boots on the ground and making contact with survivor communities; as well as intelligence gathering invasion."
"Invasion? Is that the word we want to use? Invading out own land seems a little bizarre, especially against these creatures. It isn't like they are an army." He expected to turn and see the Secretary of Stae being the one asking the question, he was surprised to see that it was Annabel Croft that had asked the question.
"Ma'am, it will be an invasion, in every sense of the word, we will need to invade the mainland. Right now they are taking over the country. They are an invading force and we are getting our collect ass kicked. We are losing the War, we are evacuating and we are going to have to concede the everything except a few isolated areas before going back in. Tactically and Strategically, we are in the same situation as Europe in Nineteen-Forty. Had it not been for one small and damp little Island having the balls and leadership to hold out, who knows how ir when World War Two would have ended. We are following the same principle. Withdraw, consolidate, aggressive Defense, Strategic Offensive Preparation and then Invasion. That's the "Road to Victory". Invasion is the only word that fits, no matter how dramatic it sounds." Amabel Croft had no response, she simply nodded and sat down. Almost everyone in the room respected her intelligence and ability o communicate on all levels. Her silence was simply the best confirmation of the Colonel's reply.
"So," Colonel Timothy resumed. "That leaves Z104, which will be the invasion itself, the strategy of which will be to force the," He paused for a moment and looked back at Annabel. "what was the term you used Miss Croft? ZEDS?" He knew exactly what the term she had used was, Zombie Effect Disorder Syndrome. He simply wanted to extend the professional courtesy her silent response had shown to him.
"During Z1O3 and Z1O4, we will need those who have survived on the ground to teach us how to fight the ZEDS scourge. Much like the ISS used resistance forces in World War Two. There is no substituting Local Intelligence. Z1)3 is about making contact, arming a Partisan Force and working on a plan based on what they know. In Z1O4, they will be our guides, our eyes, and eas. They are the links in the chain that will keep us anchored to home."
"Colonel, you said this is a six-phase plan, What is Z1O5 if Z1O4 is the invasion?" The Secretary asked
Two relevant questions in one meeting., I guess it is Trie, he thought, a broken clock can be right twice a day.
"Z1O5 Ma'am." He said, taking a moment to look at every face in the room. His head feeling clear for the first time in fifteen years. He wanted every person in the room to understand the stakes in the game they were about to play. When he was certain the room's occupants were all focused on him, he started back at the Secretary of State with Laser-like force.
